Denying the Allegations
Director Michael Bay has been charged with the death of a pigeon on the Italian set of his 2019 Netflix film "6 Underground."
Authorities reported that a homing pigeon died during the 2018 shot. Bay told the The Wrap, "I am a well-known animal lover and strong animal activist. "No animals used in the production suffered any pain or injuries. Or any other project I've been a part of over the last 30 years.
Authorities claim that the pigeon was killed by a dolly during the shooting of a scene in Rome, according to TMZ. Someone on the site took a picture of the dead bird and sent it to authorities. According to reports, Italy offers particular safeguards for pigeons.
Bay, who is well-known for action movies like "Transformers" and "Armageddon," told TheWrap that witnesses and security personnel can disprove the snapshot, which "gives a false narrative."
He wouldn't go into detail but pledged to win the case. According to The Wrap, although he could have settled the situation by paying a minor charge, doing so would have amounted to a fake admission of guilt, according to Huff Post.

Animal Cruelty
Animal cruelty, often known as animal abuse, animal maltreatment, or animal negligence, is the imposition of pain or injury upon non-human animals by either human omission (neglect) or human conduct. More specifically, it may relate to doing hurt or creating suffering to attain a particular goal, such as killing animals for amusement. This is known as zoosadism. Cruelty to animals can also refer to doing harm or causing suffering as a means in and of itself.
Various legal systems across the globe take different methods to prohibit animal cruelty. For instance, some regulations control how animals are killed for use as food, clothes, or other items, while others regulate how animals are kept as pets or for entertainment, research, or educational purposes. The problem of animal cruelty may be conceptualized in a variety of ways.
While many agree that certain actions-like animal fighting-are cruel, not all individuals and countries agree on what exactly constitutes cruelty to animals. Many argue that detailing a piglet's tail without anesthesia is cruel. Others would counter that meat production is a standard practice to protect the pig from injury later in life. Additionally, different countries have different laws regarding animal abuse.
