Furthermore, business owners reported low sales and revenues this week due to slowed commutes, travel disruptions and inflation. On the other hand, a new problem came as some portions of Southeast England had no water supply.
As many residents in England felt the extremely cold weather and freezing conditions, pipe leaks resulted in no water supplies, and residents resorted to bottled water.
The Guardian's recent report explained that many Hampshire, Southampton, Winchester and Eastleigh residents experienced low water supply due to pipe leaks.
Water disruption
Locals in the affected areas have to deal with the brunt of cold weather and no water supply. According to the Guardian, South East Water explained that they exhausted their best to restore the water due to leaks brought about by freezing conditions and thaw events.
However, the report said that locals in Kent and East Sussex water supplies could be restored this coming weekend as many people needed water for the Holiday and Christmas Season.
The Guardian news added that the leaks were revealed to suffer threefold as the water facility apologized for the low water and no water in affected areas. The report explained that the freezing conditions and thaw events contributed to the leaks in the networked pipelines.
Bottled water stations have also been deployed to help affected locals. Bottled water is sold out in supermarkets due to the surge in demand.
In addition, the report explained that the water facility maintained the water system so there would be enough supplies.
Companies also apologized for the water disruption as many locals were preparing for the Holiday Season.
Cold weather
Recently, portions of England suffered from the cold weather alert due to the extremely cold temperatures. Freezing conditions also occurred that resulting in travel delays and road accidents.
