Even with batteries powering Tesla cars, it can compete with automobiles in the speed and acceleration aspect.
There's no denying that Tesla electric car models from billionaire Elon Musk are the top electric vehicles in the market today. Equipped with state-of-the-art features and innovative systems, but there's more. The Tesla CEO said it could even go faster even if batteries power it.
Elon Musk revealed the new software update called the 'Easter Egg' will allow specific Tesla car models to go faster. "Looks like the Model S P100D Easter egg will allow it to do 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 sec and a 10.6 sec 1/4 mile via software update next month," Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a Tweet.
This will also be available on the Tesla Model S where consumers can opt for the 100 kWh battery alternative; this will make their cars even faster that the usual Tesla speed, according to a Business Insider.
In December, the new 'Easter Egg' technology will be available to Tesla Model S users through a software update. With Easter Egg, Model S P110D will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in a surprising 2.4 seconds. This just shows how a battery-operated electric vehicle can compete with gas-fueled cars in terms of acceleration and speed.
Earlier this year, Musk also announced the 'Ludicrous' mode that also promised to make Tesla cars go faster. It looks like the businessman is upgrading the technology for e-vehicles in line with his grand plan of initiating a different kind of transportation system where fossil fuels will not be needed anymore.
With Musk's claimed speed, Tesla cars are expected to become the third fastest car production next to LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. "However, both the LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder were [a] limited run, million dollar vehicles and cannot be bought new," a Tesla official said in a statement. "While those cars are small two-seaters with very little luggage space, the pure electric, all-wheel drive Model S P100D has four doors, seats up to 5 adults plus 2 children and has exceptional cargo capacity," the official added.
Tesla users are anticipating the release of the new software update to enjoy a faster battery-powered e-vehicles.
