The mysterious death of a British UFO enthusiast has lead to a number of disturbing theories.
Early this year, Max Spiers, who made a career out of probing UFO sightings and alleged government cover-ups, was found dead on a sofa in Poland, where he had gone to give a talk about UFOs. New York Times noted that Spiers' friends claimed that he "vomited a black liquid" prior to his death.
According to The Sun, authorities claimed that Spiers died from natural causes. However, no post-mortem examination was carried out on his body. Now, reports are claiming that there's more to Spier's death and some people might have covered up the truth about it.
A local news site in Kansas City reported that the 39-year-old UFO enthusiast sent a chilling text message to her mother, Vanessa Bates, 63, a day before he was found lifeless.
"Your boy's in trouble. If anything happens to me, investigate," the text message read.
Bates believes he could have been sacrificed and poisoned by Polish Satanists who he met during his paranormal research.
Bates shared to Mail details about her claim. "I think Max had been digging in some dark places and I fear that somebody wanted him dead," she said.
According to Bates, he overheard "satanic rituals" being conducted over her son's body as she spoke on the telephone with his Polish woman housemate who Spiels had been staying with.
"I could hear all this kerfuffle in the background -- ritualistic stuff. There were strange suggestions of things that should be done like put milk by this side and get garlic and put flowers and put vinegar and very weird goings on," she said.
"The more you dig, the more questions you have got and the more difficult it is for a mother, because I don't like the idea of people messing around with his body."
"It's absolutely ghastly. I feeling appallingly let down by the Polish police, I feel appallingly let down by the doctor and by the people who did the last interview when he sounds like he's dying."
The report added that Bates received strange emails and a book on devil worship and black magic titled "Sacrifice: Magic Behind the Mic" from the woman.
