If the creators of the movie "The Martian" plans to make a sequel to the film, Matt Damon might not get the lead role as Leonardo DiCaprio, apparently, would like to go to Mars in real life aboard Elon Musk's interplanetary transporter system.
Climate change activist and Hollywood's most eligible bachelor just expressed his intention to go to Mars. But it looks like not everyone is pleased or intrigued by it, including President Barack Obama.
The actor and President Obama had a meeting at the White House during the South by South Lawn Festival together with scientist Dr. Katharine Hayhoe. The trio sat down to discuss climate change and Leo's new climate change documentary called "Before the Flood."
But aside from climate change, the public recently discovered that the actor also has a fascination with Mars, like many people do. It may sound weird and absurd to some, but whether they like it or not it is bound to happen sooner or later. Leo expressed his interest to go on board and go to Mars. This was after Elon Musk revealed his plans to colonize Mars during his speech "Making Humans a Multiplanetary Species."
During the meeting at the White House, scientist Hayhoe discussed the importance of dealing with climate change and prioritizing what is close to the people's hearts instead of piling up papers and scientific reports. The scientists proceeded to mention Elon Musk's mission to Mars.
The Inverse published the conversation between three. "The reality of it is, if you're human living on this planet, which most of us are, yeah? Katharine Hayhoe said jokingly. "As long as we haven't signed up for the trip to Mars. I don't want to know if anyone has, I think you're crazy," Hayhoe added.
In a surprising twist, Leo replied, "I did!" asserting the fact that he plans to board the capsule that will take humans to Mars. He did so in front of the president. "I think he'll acknowledge he's crazy," President Obama allegedly said during the meeting with the scientist and DiCaprio.
DiCaprio apparently signed up for a trip to Mars but SpaceX hasn't confirmed if he got in yet or if there's already a list of the first batch of Earthlings to land on Mars. And if he did get to go first, Leo, the fictional "King of the World" may be given the right to claim he's also "King of Mars."
