Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos made new earlier this year when his "secretive" space rocket company, Blue Origins started getting more public with its launches and projects.
Last month, the launch of Blue Origin's reusable space rocket was publicized as opposed to the first launches that were done in secret. Bezos had also been receiving love from the media since he started committing to interviews and press conferences concerning his space rocket company, Blue Origin. Bezos company only came out of the shadows on June 19 when Bezos announced the rocket launch.
Bezos already expressed his enthusiasm towards "space tourism" and making space more accessible to the public by Blue Origin's reusable rocket technology. The technology used by the company is also geared towards more pleasant space flights with more legroom in its capsules and bigger window, which means more chance to marvel at space views.
"Each window is made of multiple layers of fracture-tough transparencies, designed to provide crystal clarity of the incredible views before you. Minimizing distortion and reflection, the windows transmit 92% of visible light-as good as glass" said a Blue Origin representative on its website.
In line with that, a new aerospace manufacturing plant by Blue Origin facility was started in Florida on June 28 to make way for Bezos space plans. The plant is 750,000 square foot and is expected to manufacture Blue Origin's orbital rockets.
"It's exciting to see the bulldozers in action," Jeff Bezos said in a correspondence with CSMonitor. "We're clearing the way for the production of a reusable fleet of orbital vehicles that we will launch and land, again and again," Bezos added.
Due to Blue Origin's reusable spaceflight developments, it was compared to Elon Musk's SpaceX that also focused on improving reusable rocket technology.
Bezos said that although parts of the orbital rocket will be manufactured in the Florida facility, he plans to manufacture the engines in a separate location. "Initial BE-4 engine production will occur at our Kent facility while we conduct a site selection process later this year for a larger engine production facility to accommodate higher production rates," Bezos said in a statement published by TechCrunch.
The facility is expected to finish by December 2017 and it'll give Blue Origin's the capability to further explore its orbital space flight to catch up with SpaceX' existing orbital space flight technology.
