If preschoolers were asked what they want to be in the future, some of them will surely say that they want to be an astronaut. Being in space is one of man's fascinations, both children and adults. And the European Space Agency (ESA) just fulfilled the dream of many to see how it is like in microgravity by releasing a 3D tour of the International Space Station (ISS).
With this 3D tour, there is no need to train and become an astronaut to see and experience the ISS. ESA released a 13-minute narrated tour of the ISS and its otherwise confusing chambers.
The 3D technology made the video more interesting. The video is highly recommended for viewers who are curious about the ISS because despite the number of ISS videos on the Internet, watching a 3D tour with narratives makes it more educational. For the best experience, the video is designed to be viewed with 3D glasses or using a state-of-the-art 3D TV.
But for those who don't have 3D glasses, don't fret. The video can be viewed in both 2D and 3D version and is available in six different languages according to TechTimes.
The maze-like and ever evolving layout of the ISS can be confusing, according to a report by Gizmodo. But the video by ESA will definitely help anyone navigate the ISS. And although this may still be far away compared to being inside the real thing, it could probably be the closest most people can see of the ISS.
ESA is known for sharing panoramic and 360-degree photos of the International Space Station. An early panoramic tour of the Node-3 Tranquillity is available for viewing on ESA's website.
