Vinny Desautels, 7, have endured two years of teasing while growing out his hair to help cancer patients.
Just recently, Vinny's hair was cut by her mom and donated the 13-inch hair to "Wigs For Kids with Cancer," an organization that donates hair for children who lost theirs while battling cancer.
It can be considered to be such a selfless act coming from a child, but due to unfortunate turn of events, Vinny was also diagnosed with cancer.
Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer after helping others with the same disease will be disheartened, but not Vinny.
"Vinny is taking all of this like a brave little turd," his grandparents wrote on his GoFundMe page.
According to his grandparents, Vinny went home from school complaining about knee pain. When he was getting for shower, his parents noticed a lump on his right and quickly rushed him in the emergency room. Doctors identified the lump to be a large growth on his Iliac bone.
Not soon after, Vinny had an appointment with an eye doctor for a swollen eye, which was originally thought to be an allergy. His parents told the doctor checking Vinny about the lump in the hip. The doctor believed that there was a connection between the two and ran through some more tests.
The doctors found another malignant mass on the eye of Vinny that appears to be aggressive.
In a report from Fox 6 Now, Vinny tried to make sense of his diagnosis.
"Well, the veins from my hip are traveling to another place right behind my eye and it's making it squinty," Vinny told the reporter.
At present, doctors still don't know what kind of cancer Vinny has.
Having a bout with cancer is very difficult not only for the person suffering from it but also for the family.
In hopes to ease some of the burden off of Vinny's parents, his grandparents made a GoFundMe page seeking financial assistance to continue the fight of Vinny against cancer.
