Paul Walker, a Hollywood actor who died in a car crash in 2013 and had starred with Vin Diesel in seven Fast & Furious movies about street racing in Los Angeles, majored in marine biology in community college before experiencing film success, according to his family.
His daughter Meadow recently announced the launch of The Paul Walker Foundation, which aims to support wildlife and ocean life, according to the organization's website.
Even more recently, the foundation announced the Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium presented the 2015 version of that award to Anali World; a Youth Award also went to Katie Ridgeway. World is co-founder of the nonprofit Jaws & Paws, and Ridgeway is a conservationist and volunteer at the aquarium, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
In 2011, Walker talked with a German entertainment outlet about his passion for the sea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxNUxb6z44U
