Seals. A lost young seal was finally returned to the ocean after the animal was roaming over the KFC restaurant's parking lot in the Papakura area of Auckland, New Zealand.

The unusual sight left people shocked after they found a young lost seal roaming around a KFC restaurant parking lot in New Zealand City.

Seals are known as animals that explore different areas near them. The young seal might have become lost as it planned to return to the waters.

The lost seal was reportedly returned to the ocean.

Lost young seal in New Zealand City

According to the latest article, United Press International (UPI) reported that a young seal managed to roam around a parking lot in a KFC restaurant.

People near the KFC restaurant reported that they thought the seal was a dog until they went closer.

In the told 1News, Jonny Wimpress explained that the animal was a grown seal.

Wimpress added that the police tried to capture the young seal as it ran away from the authorities.

Furthermore, the Department of Conservation noted that the seal could come from the Pahurehure inlet. The report said the seal was brought to the Murawai beach before it was finally released into the oceans.

In January, BBC reported that a seal pup was finally rescued after it traveled 15 miles from where it stayed in the sea.

The lost seal was found in the Lancashire village of Walton-le-Dale, noting that the animal was in healthy condition.

Seals are considered one of the known animals in the ocean, exploring areas near them.

 According to AZ Animals, seals can live in tropical and cold waters. They go ashore to evade possible ocean predators or to breed finally.

Meanwhile, Britannica reported two types of seals: the eared seals and the earless seals.

The report noted that the Baikal Seal is considered the only real living in freshwater. They are also known as the small true seals that roam in freshwater areas.

In terms of size, the leopard seals are popular for being significant in appearance, reaching up to 590 kilograms.

Furthermore, the Wood Hole Oceanographic Institution reported that the seal population is pinnipeds and mammals that thrive in the land and water.

Seals are also carnivorous that feed on marine species, including fish and crustaceans. They hunt underwater, with amazing skills in diving. For instance, Elephant seals are excellent divers that can underwater for 100 minutes.

The Wood Hole Oceanographic report added that seals suffer from hunting, boat strikes and fishing gear entanglement. Habitat loss and pollution could also affect their population.

Meanwhile, gray seals could live more than 20 years. The report said the female gray seals could reach 35 years, while the male could reach 25 years.
