Going on vacation is great, but packing your bags can cause a lot of stress. You don't want to forget anything, but you also don't want to bring too much stuff with you that you don't need. So, what should you bring? In this blog, you'll read 5 tips to pack your bags the right way!

1. They've got shops over there too

A lot of people often make the mistake to bring pretty much everything when they're going on holiday. They even bring food, multiple bottles of shampoo and more products they can easily buy in local shops. Our tip? Don't do this. It's a waste of space in your suitcase and you can use that space for more important things. So, decide what you really need to bring from your hometown and what you can buy at the destination as well.

2. Keep the destination and facilities in mind

You should alway keep the destination of your holiday in mind. This doesn't only mean you should check out what kind of weather it's going to be and decide what kind of clothes you need to bring. What a lot of people forget, is to check out what kind of services and facilities there are available at the destination. For example: check if you can do your laundry, this saves a lot of space in your suitcase.

3. Check what you're allowed to bring

If you're going on vacation by car, you can bring pretty much anything you want (as long as it fits in the car). We don't recommend it, but it's up to you! But if you're travelling by plane, you should check the guidelines of the airline you're flying with. A lot of airlines have a maximum weight of 20 of 30 kilos for check-in baggage. So make sure you don't exceed the maximum, or it will cost you money.

4. Some items you should never forget

Of course you can buy a lot of stuff at your destination, but there are some items you shouldn't forget to bring with you. So make sure you always bring your passport, wallet, phone and chargers (even those you can often buy at your destination), travel information (like the address of your accommodation), medication and if you're travelling with young children: their favorite cuddly toys, diapers, baby food, dummy and bottle.

3. Some items to recognize

If you're going on vacation with a group of people, it's easy to lose stuff because you won't recognize what's yours. The solution? Get customized items! They're not only easier to recognize, but also fun to have. There are many companies that make custom printings on different items. An example of this is the Dutch company Bedrukken.nl. A company like this prints logos and texts on items like frisbees, hand held fans, flip flops (Dutch: slippers), beach balls (Dutch: strandballen) and sunglasses. These kind of items are really nice to bring if you're going on a sunny holiday with a group of friends of your family

We hope that these tips make packing your bags a little easier. Have fun on holiday!
